Oh my lord! Sounds like he wanted to be one of the big shots with an ‘ends justifies the means’ mentality.
I'm sure there are plenty more of these guys out there… This one just happened to do enough bad shit to actually get on enough peoples' bad sides that they finally did something about it.
How's that for a run-on sentence?
